Youveim® Hydrophilic Nickel Foam is designed to meet the demanding requirements of electrochemical devices, catalytic supports, filtration systems, and fluid management applications. Combining high porosity with stable hydrophilic performance, this material ensures optimal fluid distribution, enhanced mass transfer, and long-term reliability.
Youveim® Hydrophilic Nickel Foam is made from premium nickel substrate and treated with a proprietary surface modification process to achieve stable hydrophilic properties without compromising the metal’s mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, or structural integrity. The foam features uniform pore size and controlled surface density, making it suitable for diverse applications in electrochemical cells, catalyst supports, filtration layers, and liquid management structures.
💧 High Wettability: Special surface treatment promotes rapid liquid spreading and uniform fluid distribution.
🌀 High Porosity with Uniform Pore Size: Enhances gas-liquid mass transfer and fluid permeability.
⚙ Excellent Mechanical Properties: Can be cut, pressed, or welded while maintaining structural stability.
🧪 Strong Corrosion Resistance: Compatible with a wide range of electrolytes and aqueous systems.
🔁 Durable and Reusable: Maintains hydrophilic performance after repeated washing and wet-dry cycles.
Pre-Use Preparation
Rinse lightly with deionized water or ethanol to remove surface dust or contaminants.
Avoid direct hand contact with the hydrophilic surface.
Installation and Operation
Select thickness and pore size according to your application requirements.
Ensure that single-sided or double-sided hydrophilic foam faces the liquid or functional interface.
Suitable for use as electrode support, liquid distribution layer, or interlayer structure.
Operating Environment
Typical temperature range: –40 to 250°C (short-term).
Applicable pH range: approximately 3–11 (depending on the medium).
⚡ Electrochemical Systems: Current collectors in electrolyzers, catalyst supports, enhanced electrode wetting.
💧 Fluid Management: Microfluidic liquid distribution, condensation water spreading, anti-droplet surfaces.
🧫 Filtration and Separation: Uniform liquid permeation, support layer for membranes.
🏭 Industrial Functional Interfaces: Wetting layers, reactor linings, gas-liquid contact enhancement structures.
Hydrophilic materials can gradually lose wettability when exposed to air. This is primarily due to the high surface energy state induced by the hydrophilic treatment. Over time, natural surface reorganization and aging occur, and trace organic contaminants or water vapor in the air may reduce surface polarity and free energy, leading to decreased wettability. This is a normal physical characteristic of hydrophilic materials, not a failure of the material or treatment process.
To maintain optimal performance:
Store and transport in sealed, low-contamination environments, avoiding contact with oils and silicone-based substances.
Prior to use, restore hydrophilicity with deionized water or alcohol cleaning, or mild surface activation.
These measures help ensure consistent and stable wetting performance in practical applications.
