PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Product Overview

Shimadzu XRD sample holders support the loading, surface leveling and repeatable positioning of powders, granules and small quantities of solid samples. Defined recess geometry helps control the sample area and measurement height for consistent loading across batches.

Options include circular recesses from Φ5 to Φ20 mm and square recesses from 5 × 5 to 20 × 20 mm, with a common recess depth of 0.5 mm. Sealed circular designs are available for experiments requiring reduced exposure to air, moisture or sample dispersal.

Before Ordering
Confirm the instrument model, sample position geometry, holder orientation, recess shape, opening dimensions, recess depth and sealing requirements. Check 55 × 35 mm and 35 × 55 mm dimensions against the actual mounting orientation.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are 55 × 35 mm and 35 × 55 mm holders the same?

The dimensions use the same values, but the mounting orientation may differ. Check the Shimadzu instrument's sample position, locating edges and actual placement direction before selecting a holder.

How do I choose between circular and square recesses?

Circular recesses help concentrate the sample, while square recesses provide a regular loading area. Choose according to the beam footprint, sample quantity and established measurement method.

When should I choose a sealed circular recess?

Consider a sealed design for samples that readily absorb moisture, oxidize or disperse, or when reduced contact with the external environment is required.

Is a 0.5 mm recess depth suitable for every sample?

Not necessarily. It is suitable for many routine thin-layer powder preparations, but suitability also depends on absorption characteristics, particle condition, sample quantity and measurement method.
