FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose between circular and square recesses?

Circular recesses help concentrate the sample, while square recesses provide a regular loading area. Choose according to the beam footprint, sample quantity and established measurement method.

Which specifications require a recess shape in the order notes?

Specifications marked “Specify square or circular recess” require you to state the desired recess shape when ordering.

Are quartz sample holders directly interchangeable?

Compatibility cannot be determined from the recess opening alone. Check overall dimensions, total thickness, mounting orientation and the instrument's sample position geometry.

Are shallow recesses suitable for every powder?

Not necessarily. Select recess depth according to sample quantity, particle condition, absorption characteristics and measurement method.
