DuPont™ Nafion® PFSA Polymer Dispersions

High-Performance Proton Conductive Dispersions for Fuel Cells, Electrolysis, and Advanced Electrochemical Applications

🧾 Product Overview

DuPnt™ Nafion® PFSA polymer dispersions are advanced perfluorosulfonic acid/PTFE copolymer systems in the protonated (H⁺) form, suspended in water or alcohol-based solvents. These dispersions are chemically stabilized and available in multiple equivalent weights (EW) and polymer concentrations, designed for casting thin films, coating catalyst layers, and enhancing ionic conductivity in a wide range of electrochemical devices.

⚖ What Is Equivalent Weight (EW)?

Equivalent Weight (EW) refers to the weight of dry polymer (in grams) per mole of sulfonic acid (-SO₃H) groups. It directly affects proton conductivity, mechanical properties, and water uptake.

EW Value

Description

EW 1000

Higher acid group density → higher proton conductivity, softer membrane, higher swelling

EW 1100

Lower acid group density → better chemical/mechanical stability, lower water uptake
